Course Overview

The martial arts courses at Shuijing Hermitage are divided into three distinct paths, allowing practitioners at different stages and with varying needs to find a direction that suits them.

Eiseikan Kendo

Modern Kendo

Modern Budo practice.
Through rules, protective gear, and sparring practice, we systematically train technique, physical fitness, etiquette, and mental focus.
Suitable for those who want to build a solid foundation and enjoy clear progress and competitive elements.

Iaijutsu keiko

Practical Swordsmanship

Practical verification and application exercises.
Using Ji-geiko (sparring) methods to test the real-world application of Iaido, Battojutsu, and sword techniques in simulated combat.
Suitable for practitioners who already have a foundation and want to know if "this technique can actually be used."

Katori

Tenshin Shōden Katori Shintō-ryū

The origin of Japanese swordsmanship.
A complete Koryu system including sword, spear, naginata, etc., emphasizing deep practice of form and principle. Continuous practice in both Hong Kong and Indonesia.
Suitable for those who want to delve into the roots of traditional Budo.

Based on your experience and goals, we generally recommend starting with a trial class to personally experience the differences between various paths and determine your suitability.
